That's actually resolution. On an LCD screen, good dot pitch is anywhere from .27 to .29. My best suggestion is to go to someplace like Circuit City or CompUSA and just *look* at the ones you like. A more important measurement is the contrast ratio and the higher the better, 400:1 or higher. If you get an LCD screen, I would recommend getting one with a DVI port and getting a video card that supports DVI. The picture is *that* much better. My DVI cable cost me about 80 bucks, though. /================================================\ | Michael Luevane | Systems Administrator | | [log in to unmask] | Quantec, LLC | | 503-228-2992 | http://www.quantecllc.com | \================================================/ -----Original Message----- From: PCBUILD - Personal Computer Hardware discussion List [mailto:[log in to unmask]]On Behalf Of Peter Shkabara Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2003 11:35 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] Dot Pitch 18-inch is sort of on the border. Probably will have a native resolution of 1280x1024. I would not accept 1024x768 on an 18-inch. My choice would be to have 1600x1200 (which I have on my 20-inch monitor), but it might make the windows a bit too small for most tastes.
