Thank you for the hint Raymond. The key word I needed was "e-sata". Using
that I found several external drive cases that will do the job. For now,
however, I will get a Firewire case (also has USB 2) to use with my extra
200GB IDE drive. Next external backup drive will probably be a SATA in an
e-sata case.

if you are looking at setting up an external HDD setup these days i would go
down the line of an e-sata setup this has the efect of moving an  internal
HDD (speed wise) - externaly all else i would stick with USB2 as just about
all computers around today suport USB 1 or 2, not to many with firewire, you
should only look a firewire if you have a camcorder with that conection..
