I don't have any direct experience with these, but since you've been happy
with your Logitech speakers on your other system, maybe look at what they
have to offer in the 2.1 format. I know Logitech has a very good reputation
for offering quality speakers at a competitive price. Looking at NewEgg,
Logitech offers 2.0 and 2.1 speaker systems ranging in price from $23 for a
pair of 2.5 watt speakers to $109 for a THX certified 200 watt system (ok,
clearly not what you are looking for; though, I see Logitech has a $50
rebate available for these).

Since good speakers seem to hang around through countless other upgrades,
I'd probably give the $39 Z-3 2.1 system a try (40W = 8.5W x 2 + 23W).

Maybe someone else has some actual experience with these. I'm still using a
set of Microsoft 2.1 speakers, which bombed as USB connected speakers (which
was their big feature), but have been fine using their analog connection. I
picked them up on clearance.
