I bought the book The Paleo Diet last night and it seems to have all the
info I need on this topic.

No. There's much dissension on what plant-source food are or are not  
paleo, for instance modern fruit isn't.
Also high-glycemic is not paleo for some. Nuts.

The basic for choosing paleo is still to imagine oneself naked with a  
sharp stick, and eat what you could wisely get in the right environment.
