I wish I weren't.  You would be surprised how many
people accept this as
established fact.  A quick google search, eg, found
this site:

Look under the "Should Not" section to see the fact
quoted quite seriously.

Usually it's referenced by vegetarians.  I'd like to
be able to set them
straight with a reputable reference refuting the fact
when they happen to bring
it up.
