I grew up in Russia. Eating eggshells at the time wasn't something you did
everyday, but few people would have been surprised by a child eating an
eggshell. As I recall (and I did this as a YOUNG child) I just chewed it.
Just to make sure I just went down to the kitchen and ate and eggshell.
Seems just like what I remembered it :)
