That's basically my approach as well. I can't imagine how people manage the
calorie-counting and carb allowance measuring stuff on a long-term basis.

***** Ain't that the truth!! I remember years ago when I was a kid and Weight Watchers had just come out and my Mom was on it. She had her little scale on the kitchen counter and weighed EVERYTHING. Sheesh. Made me tired back then and makes me tired now, lol. I also have a friend who is on one of the "stupidest" diets I have ever seen...won't go into details here, who cares, lol, but she knows how many dang TORTILLA CHIPS she can have (13 per day)!!!! But she can't have red meat. I don't know whether to laugh or shake her silly.

I find those aggressive drug commercials to be annoying too. Science isn't
telling us to buy those drugs, Brenda, the ads are.

***** Yeah, I know, sweetie. One of those posts where my brain didn't quite connect to the typing fingers, lol. I was thinking about too much too fast and the fingers just couldn't keep up. Probably didn't help that I was sleepy and drinking wine, either, hehehe. I was actually trying to discuss two different subjects and somehow they melded into one that made no sense!!!

As a teacher of mine used to
say, "It all boils down to economics."

  ***** Absolutely!!!

> I will take my flaxseed and all others in the hopes that I can outlive the
scientists, sigh.

Love,
Bren, agreeing with Ginny and Tomo

Actually, Ginny's point appears to be (Ginny please correct me if I have it
wrong) that flaxseed is not that good because it requires more conversion
than fish oil and that humans are preferential carnivores, so that people
probably shouldn't take flaxseed meal/oil and should instead take fish oil.

Also, there is scientific research that supports your taking
flaxseed for health, so I think you are actually in agreement with many
scientists on this topic. So it looks like all of us, Ginny, Tomo, Brenda,
many scientists, and I are in agreement on most points re: flax oil.

***** Again, two subjects that I mangled into one, lol. Methinks I should post in the mornings while drinking Starbucks, instead of trying to make sense a few minutes before bedtime while drinking Chardonnay. <Note to self.> LOL. What I was actually trying to say is that I agreed with Ginny on the point that I trust myself more on making sense of what I should and shouldn't eat, rather than trusting "science". And I actually agree with BOTH of you on the other point...I use fish oil AND flaxseed!! Although not nearly often enough. This whole discussion is a good wake-up call for me on that note. :) "Get thee to the coffee grinder, woman", hehehe.

  Love,
  Bren
