Diane,

Regarding the timing of these oil supplements, I take them together. I
space the borage out because I was told to, and I space the fish oil out
because the box says to take each dose with a meal. Also, because I also
take other vitamins, it's easier to space them out.

I tend to have a sluggish thyroid, and my concern is that these highly
unsaturated oils could be making this problem worse. There is so much
conflicting information! Atkins, Eades, Crayhon, and others say omega-3
oils are excellent for thyroid function, while Ray Peat says omega-3 and
omega-6 oils are toxic and detrimental to the thyroid. He claims carrots,
coconut, milk, cheese, potatoes and fruit are very important for thyroid
function and that meats, eggs and fatty fish contain harmful, toxic fats
that impede thyroid function. I do know that my tsh has risen while low-
carbing and my free t-3 levels have dropped dramatically, but I am hoping
that this is just my body adjusting/compensating for fat loss. Any
thoughts?

Adrienne
