Is raw cabbage OK to eat?

I have read on the WAPF web site that raw cruciferous vegetables can cause thyroid problems.

http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/crucifers.html#goitrogens

Did Paleo man eat cabbage and if he (and she) did, was it raw?

(To be honest I am somewhat skeptical of some articles on their web site and the book Nourishing Traditions)

I eat cabbage that is fried in olive oil. It's delicious!

Best wishes,
Ron
