It's a stiff legged deadlift, only you have a slight bend in the knees.
Great for the calves, hamstrings, spinal erectors, abs, forearm gripping
strength, etc.
I never agreed with Mentzer that the plain deadlift was the most important
movement. The full squats uses the same muscles (although the low back is
stressed to a lesser degree, but the thighs are stressed more), but has a
far larger range of motion. And, unless you have a trap bar, you will
probably tear up you shins and ankles.
