I do try to limit my quoting, but on the other hand, I wonder if the old rules about quoting aren't getting a bit dated.  For example, your reference to top posting.  That used to drive me absolutely nuts, but now my mail client automatically hides all the excess quoted text, so I don't even see it anymore.   Just a thought.
