Todd,

        As I ready Neanderthin, Ray endorses an Atkins-like ketogenesis for
losing weight.  He even suggests going all-meat for a couple of days to
jump start the ketosis.  Perhaps obesity is an auto-immune response to
modern foods.  That doesn't mean *all* obesity is the result of such a
response, nor that some people, especially after abusing their bodies
for years, won't benefit from a low-carb paleo diet.
