As well as some other starches, sugar, MSG, alcohol, and of course, all
sorts of soy products... And don't forget the assortment of non-paleo
oils they use for stir-frying... The only way to do paleo-legal Chinese
at a restaurant would be to order a meat and veggie dish STEAMED.

Most of the meats on an antipasto platter would be processed, and very
non-paleo. And then there's the cheese... But at an Italian place, you
should at least be able to get a plain piece of meat or fish grilled with
some veggies (either steamed or sauteed in olive oil). mmmm... :-)

Yup, some good plain chili might work out... if it's not thickened with
corn or wheat flour... You might have a better shot with a grilled steak
or a plainer seafood dish.

And pretty much everything else... You'll be really hard-pressed to find
somthing that isn't made with lentils, wheat, yogurt or ghee...

ALL of the above comments assume an intent to stay strictly "paleo." As
with my own lowcarb plan, I'm sure that most of you allow occasional
deviations. I just think it's important to understand what you're doing,
so you don't fall into a trap where you THINK you've been following the
rules in a situation where it's virtually impossible...
