One idea behind fasting is that the body gets rid of the unhealthy excess
first, thus contributing to the body's ability to battle cancer. During a
long fast, the body gets rid of fat and muscle first before it starts to
canibalize it's vital organs. Many people who are into raw food diets,
fruitarianism, etc., are into fasting. You should be able to find quite a
few websites out there.
