Thanks, Stacie.  This concept has grated on my ears more than once.  I'm
sure over the eons of time, tribes wound up somewhere new from time to time.
  They had to eat SOMETHING!  And we're still here, so it all worked out in
the end.

Another sticking point that makes me roll my eyes is when people say "as an
Anglo/Asian/African/your-ethnicity-here I can't eat
beef/fish/lamb/insert-avoided-food-here."  You know what I mean.  Sure, I'm
an Anglo NOW.  But people in present-day UK/Ireland probably got there from
somewhere else.  God only knows all the twists and turns in my family tree.
But some people on this list might say "well, buffalo IS a healthy food, but
there were no buffaloes in Europe so you'd better stick to lamb (or whatever
is assumed to be native to this area).  Say WHAT?

How 'bout this; early humans didn't use Charmin so I'll just stick with
leaves.  I'm not trying to be nasty, not at all.  Just realistic.  We'll
never know precisely what early humans ate and we'll never know precisely
where we came from.  Don't miss the forest because of the trees.
