My husband is going for mitral valve surgery nest week. He's in the
hospital right now to restore his heart rhythm. They originally put him on a low
fat diet. It was horrendous. Lots of chemicals, sugar, bread, etc. We spoke
to his cardiologist about it. She told us we could bring in our own food
and wants him on a high fat high protein (low carb) diet to build him up for
the surgery. Amazing!

There is a refrig/freezer in the pantry of the hospital that is usable by
patients.
