My daughter, Jordan, is allergic to milk and suffers from excema ... we found this out in a round about way this past year... Jordan was one of those little kids who didnt like milk or ice cream and we never made her eat what she didnt like b/c she loved fruits and vegetables so much ... she joined gymnastics at an early age and excelled on a national level in tumbling and trampoline... that meant following a food program that was nutrition based... not much meat (if any) - no fatty foods so she was symptom free for years - throughout her whole high school and early college as she cheered at Xavier University.

When an injury ended her cheerleading career and she transferred to the University of KY to pursue a degree in Biotechnology, a hectic schedule changed her eating habits... she added cheese pizza and macaroni & cheese and ramen noodles as well as fast foods.. which she'd always foregone... to make a long story short, Jordan (who is now 22) became moody and stressed and short tempered and her normal smooth complection took a real downturn... she itched and cried at the smallest thing... and had stomach problems when she ate ...

Thanksgiving 2002, I was online looking for information about acne... and found a list of eczema symptoms .. which lead us to milk allergies and the NO-MILK list... In reading, we realized that all her life she had been protected from the allergy b/c of her athletic regimin so she cut out all milk/casein/lactose products on the spot and sought medical help for her secondary facial infection (which explained the 'acne') ... after 6 weeks, she is back to her happy self, confident , no more stressed than any other college student... and not itching as much anymore...

We appreciate all the help on this list and Jordan has incorporated her challenges into some of her genetic research classes... in the hopes of finding a cure...

Thank you .. Diana Welte
