We were told by our doctor that every mammal produces casein, including
humans whether or not you eliminate all dairy from your diet.  So, my
daughter was also on neocate.  If a casein protein allergy/intolerance is
diagnosed, your insurance should cover a portion of the formula, ours did
after some persistence from our doctor and us.
