Tagatose sugar uses de-proteinated whey or lactose as the raw material
from
which it is made. Although whey is a by-product in the making of
cheese,
tagatose is a monosaccharide or simple sugar that is no more like a
dairy
product than fructose or fruit sugar. What distinguishes tagatose from
ordinary table sugar or sucrose? It is much lower in calories; does
not
result in a rise in glucose levels and is therefore safe for diabetics;
it
actually works to prevent dental decay; and, promotes improved
digestion.
You still may want to discuss it with your physician to reassure
yourself.

Thank you for contacting Spherix.

Sincerely,

Mr. Terry Nelson
