Dear Supporter,

If you've got a pack of greetings cards at home, could you keep one aside to send a friendly greeting to someone in danger or unjustly imprisoned? Your personal message will mean the world to a prisoner in a cell or a family waiting for news of a loved one.

Each year, Amnesty supporters around the world send cards as part of our Greetings Card Campaign. They never fail to make an impact – these are just a couple of the many messages we received back last time:

"You have giving me hope and shown me a lot of love. When I read some of your letters they make me so happy that I forget about the deplorable living conditions here in Aba prison." Patrick Okoroafor, Nigeria.

"Whenever I am feeling depressed my eye falls on these cards and the loving caring feelings by thousands of supporters elivate my spirits in a second... Why should I worry in the presence of overwhelming support from all over the world."
Amina Janjua, Pakistan.
Will you keep a card aside for one of these individuals?

In Indonesia, teacher Johan Teterissa has been imprisoned for 15 years for unfurling a flag. Address details and suggested message

In the Russian Federation, Mukhmed Gazdiev is trying to find out what has happened to his son Ibragim, who “disappeared” two years ago. Address details and suggested message

In Ethiopia, Birtukan Mideksa is serving a life sentence for seeking peaceful political change. Address details and suggested message

These are just a few of the cases that Amnesty supporters around the world are rallying around during this year's Greetings Card Campaign. Read details of all 32 stories and access all our resources, including pre-printed address labels, at amnesty.org.uk/gcc.

Thank you for your support.

With best wishes,

Natalie Smith
Individuals at Risk Campaigner

PS If you're feeling creative why not make your own card?
