The IEC final table of results suggest that the independents won 4 seats whilst NRP won 1 seat. Hamat Bah lost his seat again despite the existence of an Independent Candidate to split the APRC votes. The turnout was just 50% and it does look as if the Opposition Boycott was only noticed at the KMC area- For example Serre-Kunda Central, only 26 % of the electorate voted.

Three prominent APRC Candidates have lost their seats despite President Yahya Jammeh calling those who oppose his choices as Dogs. Selu Bah of Basse, Kebba B Nget, all former MPs  and Mr. Abdou F.H.S Jarju who is seeking for the seat for the first time but all representing the great Leader's party have been rejected by Gambians! In the same vein two former UDP members who also defied their party to stand independent have all lost. Former UDP MP Babanding K.K. Daffeh has lost his seat to Bakary Seedy Fadera of APRC while Dodou Kassa Jatta too lost to Kalifa Jammeh the incumbent for the APRC.
The lost seats now belong to  Muhammad Magasi Independent MP for Basse,  Samba Jallow NRP MP for Niamina Dankunku, and Buba I.E Sanneh Independent MP for Brikama so far a huge humiliation for the president. But the night is still young and as we saw Dr. Jammeh swept all the Gambia for the Presidential elections, it looks Gambians are not happy with some of his endorsements of some candidates. Keep watching for more results.
