How did all these elections get so close together? La-Guinea, Ivory Coast, Burkina, Cameroon, etc.?? You would think God is testing us. Haruna.

It is reported that Liberia is hosting refugees from Southern Ivory Coast after the closure of the Ivorian borders. That part of IC and Eastern Liberia are home the Yacouba tribe who speak Gio. They are generally partisans of outgoing president Gbagbo. The tribe says they fear reprisals from IC's rebel forces who control the area. IC has seen two ominous cases of partisans assassinating each other at party headquarters in the last two days.

Northern Liberia has also become host to many La-Guinea businessmen and women who were caught on the Liberian side of the border when La-Guinea closed all her borders earlier this week.

Go to The GDP and choose Liberia News from the Resources area for more on this unsettling turn of events.
