It saddens me that some people still think the UDP is only about Ousainou Darboe. Good grief, after 17 years of existence as a legitimate party, people are yet to sit back and look at the bigger picture within the UDP- that it is not a One Man Show. Whilst, we acknowledge that Darboe is the LEADER , he is not the OWNER . The party belongs to all Gambians that believes in the tenets of the justice, peace and progress. Unlike the APRC, Darboe has and will always act in line of the Party Manifesto/ Constitution, something which is a requisite for good governance in The Gambia.

Kebbeh, your lines on UDP are always thesame and anytime people read them, they always say to themselves; 'whoops! He has done it again'.

I should have limited myself to responding to Edrissa who raised a very valid point.

I was told that lawyer darbo cannot run anymore, yet still he is not willing to give a chance to others. There is no better indicator than that. When will we get femi peters or shyngle to take over? That route may be the other option of salvaging udp. Having said that, I still believe the better option is to dismantle udp and have all your folks follow sedia.

>> Edrissa, you have a valid point there. The voting rights of overseas based Gambians should have been included in the reform agenda. However, the UDP Diaspora did petitioned the IEC on this issue but received no reply despite a follow-up by the Party's leadership in Banjul. Notwithstanding, I do agree that the issue should have been included in the reform agenda of the G6 since the group was formed solely for that purpose- to demand genuine electoral reform to ensure free and fair elections. I would like to think this was an oversight.

Have all of udp and other small parties join pdois under sedia or halifa. Without this babili mansa is likely to continue his menace for sometime. The obstacle is, has been, and likely will be lawyer darbo and udp.
