The Presidential Alternative Treatment Programme (PATP) through its director
general is appealing to the general public and institutions to compliment
the Godly and noble deeds of the Gambian leader by giving meaningful
contributions in cash and kind to the programme.

In a statement issued to that effect, Dr Tamsir Mbowe stated that the
valuable contributions would no doubt be an act of worship as it goes
directly to saving lives and humbly supporting procreation.

Below is the full text of the statement

Fellow Gambians and dear patriots, as the director general of the
Presidential Alternative Treatment program, I am pleased to inform you of
the continuing success of the treatment program thanks to the benevolence
and selfless intervention of His Excellency Sheikh Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya
AJJ Jammeh who by his grace decided to share his exceptional gift of a
miscellany of ailments, notable amongst which are HIV/AIDS, infertility,
diabetes, hypertension to name just a few.

Since the commencement of the program on 17th of January 2007, apart from
devoting much of his time to the treatment, His Excellency the President has
to date committed and expended millions of dalasi to sustain it and ensure
its coverage across the length and breadth of the entire country and the
rest of the world.

Since then, more than twenty-one thousand patients have undergone the
treatment and thousands more are on the waiting list. Indeed his exemplary
deeds do bear witness to the truism: seeing is believing.

To ensure the continuity of the program and enable its wider coverage across
the country and to continue to accommodate the ever-increasing visiting
patients from overseas especially providing for their comfort and welfare
whilst undergoing treatment, I have seen it necessary as the director
general to take on the initiative of appealing to the general public and
indeed institutions to compliment the Godly and noble deeds of our leader
His Excellency the President by giving meaningful contributions in cash and
in kind to help sustain the program and in the renovation of the Kanilai
Alternative Clinic.

Your valuable contributions no doubt will be an act of grace in making a
pledge and can only be rewarded by Allah Subhana Wa’tallah. I therefore use
this opportunity on behalf of the patients and beneficiaries of this great
treatment program and the general public to thank His Excellency the
President, the saviour of mankind for his breakthrough.

Meanwhile, all donations are to be addressed to the director general through
the following numbers: 9914535 / 9963345 or Nyima Badjie on 9963346 or the
Kanilai Alternative Clinic in Bakau on 4495047.
