It makes no difference Fangbenle is just the same as Wowo. They are all part of AJJ's squad of mercenary judges.

We must not forget that Fangbenle played a crucial part in the wrongful conviction of 21 March Coup Suspects.

As regards to  whether they are any Gambians Judge around, my answer is YES, but lest we forget that Buba Jawo - A Gambian Magistrate wrongfully convicted Fatou Jaw- Manneh.

The update below from GPU-Gambia reports that one mercenary judge Wowo, has been replaced by another mercenary judge, Fangbele. Are there no Gambian judges to handle this case? Or are we missing something here?

There has been some new developments in the case of the Gambia Seven, with the case being taken away from the presiding judge Justice Joseph Wowo and given to another judge of the High Court, Justice Emmanuel Fangbele.

This has been one of the demands of the defense which prompted the defense lawyers to walk out of court at today's hearing when Justice Wowo refused their application to excuse himslef from the case and also insisted on proceeding with the trial in his chambers instead of in open court.

It has even been said that the new judge will grant the defense application to have the case heard in open court, and therefore it is very likely that the defense team will get back to court on the next adjournment date on Monday (27 July) instead of tomorrow as was the case with Justice Wowo.
