Breaking News: Gambia: Mischievous Solicitor General Pa Harry Instigated
DPP Chenge’s Deportation!
Mischievous Solicitor General Pa Harry Instigated DPP Chenge’s
Deportation!

Pa Harry Told Yahya Jammeh That Cheneg Is Anti Gov’t, Following His
Opposition Against Richards Prosecution!
Moses Richards’s Case Cost Chenge His Job
The mischievous Solicitor General Pa Harry Jammeh, instigated the
deportation of DPP Richard Chenge, after he told the President Yahya Jammeh that
Mr. Chenge was “anti Government”, following the Lawyer’s declaration that the
false information, and sedition charges against Mr. Richards should be
dropped since the Bar Association is voicing its opposition against it, the
Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. Mr. Chenge was from the onset
opposed to Richards arrest, and subsequent prosecution. He had emphasized to
officials at the AG Chambers about the implications of trying to convict
a decent member of the Bar. Mr. Chenge, was not keen at handling Richards’
s case. He told Pa Harry that if there is no Bar, there wouldn’t be any
court, and thus advised that the charges should be dropped.
Pa Harry Jammeh had earlier told Mr. Chenge that the decision to prosecute
Moses Richards emanated from the President, but Chenge clearly told him
the President should reconsider his move because the Bar is against it. Pa
Harry then in turn accuses Chenge of being anti Government following his
refusal to prosecute Richards. Mr. Chenege disagrees saying that “after all I
have done for the Government, today you are accusing me of being anti
Government. Chenge told him right into his face that his accusations against
him are false, and unfounded.”
But Chenge’s statements angered Pa Harry, who reported him to the
President claiming that Chenge was opposed to his administration. Mr. Jammeh,
reacted angrily by ordering Chenge to leave The Gambia within 72 hours. Mr.
Chenge complied, and left The Gambia. He is currently at his native country
Nigeria, sources said.
Pa Harry is also unhappy about the court’s move to set Richards free on
bail. He is widely feared at the Justice Department. Even Justice Minister
Edward Gomez is afraid of him, sources added. Mr. Jammeh has been
undermining his boss Edward Gomez. It is a question of when Edward would be replaced
by Pa Harry, but sources said Edu is a caretaker AG, as Pa Harry Jammeh
fires the shots at the Justice Department. Pa Harry had immediate access to
the President, and in most cases Jammeh uses him to pass information to the
staffers at the state law office, including the judiciary.
According to sources, Pa Harry will in some instances tell judicial
staffers that “the President wants accused persons to be sentenced to life
imprisonment, 20 years, 15, years, and 10 years respectively. It is not clear if
some of the statements being attributed to the President by Pa Harry indeed
emanate from Yahya Jammeh, but sources said Pa Harry wants to see Moses
Richards convicted.
Mr. Chenge, left his properties behind in The Gambia. He was not allowed
to pack and ship his properties to Nigeria. The regime insists that he
should leave within 72 hours.
Sources said despite the controversies associated with Mr. Chenge, he was
opposed to the prosecution of Moses Richards. His constant appeals for the
case to be dropped fell into deaf ears. Pa Harry Jammeh in turn accuses
Chenge of being an opponent of the regime, which led to his deportation.
