Lieutenant General Masanneh Kinteh, the chief of Defense Staff (CDS) of the
Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) on behalf of the entire service chiefs, general
officers, officers, security services and other ranks of GAF has expressed
gratitude to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr
Yahya Jammeh who is also the commander-in-chief of GAF, for his patronage in
the recently concluded Inter-Service Sports and Drill Competition.

The letter reads:
On Behalf of the Service Chiefs, General Officers, Officers and Other Ranks
of the Gambia Armed Forces and indeed on behalf of all the Security Services
and Agencies of the Gambia, I wish to thank His Excellency the President and
Commander-In-Chief for his patronage of the Inter-Service Sport and Drill
Competition. We also appreciate the presence of Her Excellency the First
Lady and for her presentation of some of the prizes.

We are particularly grateful for the numerous giant trophies His Excellency
donated for the competitions. The trophies were so many, magnificent and
expensive that it would have been a conundrum for the Armed Forces to
procure. Furthermore, I want to thank His Excellency for the generous cash
prizes as well as the 21 bulls donated to the Armed and Security Services at
the end of the competition. These donations have set the stage for a joyous
end of year party and not for the Gambia Armed Forces but for all Security
Services and Agencies of the country. We pray for His Excellency's
continuous good health and wish him and the first family a blessed New Year.

MN Kinteh
Lieutenant General
Chief of Defense Staff
