Folks,
I have the greatest concern to write you this mail, which i hope will find you in good health! My name is Pa Modou Boajng, i was born on the 16th of February 1975 in Brikama Suma Kunda. My father, since 1994 never support the regime of Yahya Jammeh and was a dye hard supporter of the opposition UDP. I was the manager of the seized Yiriwa Community Radio station in Brikama from 2004 to 2009 by the time it was closed down by the government of Yahya Jammeh. My problem started in June 2008 when i broadcast about the disappearance of journalist Chief Ebrima Manneh on boar my News Hour programme. Since then i have been arrested by the NIA, detained and tortured on many occasion. In August 2009, i fled the country and claimed asylum in UK on the 10th 0f September 2009. I had my interview with the UK Border agancy on the 17th of November 2000. My asylum claim was refused on the 20th of January 2010 and appealed to the Tier Tribunal in March 2010 and i was also refused, since then my solicitors at the Immigration Advisory Service have been tring to appeal my case to many courts, but all appeals have been refused as they say i have no right to appeal. UKBA based their refusal that the government of the Gambia has no interest in me for the simple reasons that i was able to fly from Banjul International airport and that Jammeh has recently pardoned six journalists who were tried for treason and sentenced, which shows that Jammeh has a good relationship with the media now.
Since September 10th, 2009 i have been reporting to Home Office on a weekly basis to sign. I was arrested last Thursday when i went to sign and taken to Manchester detention center waiting to be deported bck to Gambia. Despite all my plea, the UKBA refused me saying that i have exhausted all my rights and have no further right s to remain in the UK. On Friday i was issued with a removal form to sign which i refused as they set my removal date for Thursday the 15th of this Month on SN Brussels Airline from Gatwick to Banjul at 6:50 PM. Today i am told that i will be moved to another detention center in London called Oakington Detention center.
Gambians, i would love to fax you all my asylum papers, but unfortunately i have no access to them as since i was arrested i was only with my clothes i wear as this was very unexpected and they could not give me chance to go back to my house.
I am really very depressed at the moment as i have no doubt if return back to Gambia i will face death, following my recent criticism of the Jammeh regime on the Freedom newspaper. As you know freedom newspaper has been censored in Gambia and whoever associated with it will really face harsh reception when returned to Gambia. I really need your urgent assistance before they deport me. Please, please, please and please, do whatever you can do to assist me stay and not return to face my death in Gambia.
This is the contacts of MP of my area in Liverpool as i think she can play a very pivotal role in stopping this deportation move by the UKBA.
