Kathy,

I'll have to get the actual scripture references if you like. But he took
scripture that said he knows where we ought live and etc. and made it sound
as though where we are born is where we ought stay. It is a strong
predestination message down to the nth degree and while I believe God has
predestined us, I believe he predestined us to be with him, accept Christ,
to be his Children, but has he predestined our choice to go here or go
there, to do this and do that? If so why then do we have Scripture that
tells us to consider God's will for our lives and not just make up we ought
go here to gain profit or go there? He took Scripture that says all that
has occurred to us has been allowed to happen, and while it obviously has
been allowed, he infers it is designed and inflicted by God's hand and not
by the freedom of choice which we have been gifted with on Earth, and talk
about so often. Did God allow sexual abuse on my wife at age 9? Or was it a
choice by a perverted kid who acted upon his own selfish designs? Romans
8:28 which we just talked about which basically says all things are turned
for the good of those who love god and believe. Granted it doesn't always
mean we'll like what it might turn to at first, but perversion, rape and
etc. is that of God? I believe that is not so. Reading his book, and
granted, these are things which my wife read to me the paraphrase and
Scripture and asked me what I thought it meant and then we discussed
it. But I've heard enough to know that the overall message is uplifting
but in my opinion over read and seems to have been tried to hard to explain
some things. I remember Kathy your, or Greg's explanation of the hardening
of Pharaoh's heart. You basically said that God is God, we can choose to be
mud or wax, one is baked hard and crusty with God's light and the other is
moldable and fashions itself to God's direction. If predestination is so,
then our choice is no longer. Didn't Jesus tell us to choose him as Christ?
If so why then did he preach. If it was predestination then he ought came,
died as a baby and went to heaven to get the technical part done right off.
I was considering trying to get these books in PDF format to go through it,
and I still might so I know what it says and what others believe that may
be in a position to speak into my life, e. g. our pastor? Oh and one other
thing which I believe Paul mentioned, or someone did, that it is a bit
proprietary. If you buy the big book, no Scripture references are listed to
what he says is Scripture, you have to by the Journal part to get that, and
they are listed in the rear in no real order. In all my wife bought three
books to go through the program lol. She is a bit strong on following up
comments which Scripture, which I'm glad she is and doesn't take man's word
for gospel. I am same, if it doesn't match scripture it is tossed out. I
yet am open to seeing new applications to Scripture,b but they have to be
supported by other Scripture as well. Scripture interprets Scripture again.
I'll see if I can get the exact references.

Brad
