We go in tomorrow morning, Thursday, and have to be there at 5:30. Pretty early. The procedure starts at 7:30 and is about 90 minutes long, is all, then recovery room, then back to her own room, and then we see how things go before they send her home. The next six weeks are going to be nothing like we have ever experienced since she can't put any pressure on that leg for that long. Thank the Lord that today the rest of my stitches were removed and they cut me loose. My lower back is still weak, I still can't walk normally due to the huro damage that is slowly dissipating a little every week in my left foot. I'm close to walking normal but not quite yet. In short, in many ways, since I can't lift very much and am not supposed to be bending over much, things are going to be a little hairy, as we used to say back in the lat sixties, for a few days. I praise the Lord so much for awakening each day the last 10 days without back pain, or any other pain in my whole body, because after so many years of daily back pain somewhere along my spine has been a very long time and I am talking about 8 to 10 years. I still feel the weakness in parts of my body, especially my legs and ankles, but now I can do treadmill walking every day for leg strengthening and stretching exercising. I have a 20 dollar flexible ring, with padded areas inside and outside the ring, I bought from QVC years and years ago that allows for gentle stretching of every muscle group in the body so you can do it while watching TV or listening to the radio. I found it the other day in a box while I looked for something else. I remember a few years ago, I almost tossed it into the trash. I'm glad now to have kept it. Pray for all of us tomorrow and for these next few weeks and you know we appreciate it. We might make it home by noon, or shortly thereafter, if all goes well.
