And the diabetic

There are TWO diets that diabetics follow--it is an either /or.

The classic diabetic diet, up until recently was the low-carb diet..[the
second and third stages of the Atkins diet}. Then, when carbs became
the in thing, the diet they advocated was a high carb one. However, a
large number of diabetics, esp Type II {adult onset} do not do well on
the high carb variety, but have far better control and are able to
reduce or even eliminate medications on the low carb diet.

Again, the low carb diet Does include low gi fruits and veggies, but not
starchesm which are high gi [glycemic index]. If you look carefully,
you will see that there is not all that much difference between a low
carb diet and a celiac diet weith desserts eliminated.
