I got several responses (see below) about the gf status of Dairy Queen's ice
cream. Thanks to all who replied!

Subject: Dairy Queen sundaes

Does anyone know the gf status of Dairy Queen's sundaes (soft serve vanilla
ice cream)? I just ate one against my better judgement and I'm wondering if
it isn't making my stomach hurt. I also had M&M sprinkles on top that
appeared to be crushed by a blender and I had the afterthought that they
probably blend all the toppings in the same blender and that could cause a
gluten reaction because of cross-contamination. I didn't see anything on
their web site about ingredients. Thought someone might know. . .

I have a list from Yahoo/Geocities created by the Celiac Disease On-Line
Support Group members dated 8/2/200 that states that Dairy Queen Soft serve
(vanilla & chocolate), Misty, Plain M & M Blizzard without chocolate sauce
is GF. Here is the site so you may check, it lists several desserts.

--------------------------------

DQ softserver is supposed to be GF. But the blender sounds like the
culprit.

---------------------------------

I haven't checked recently and I am not sure about their sunday toppings,
but I have eaten their blizzards minus the chocolate sauce several times
and have not gotten sick. Therefore I believe that the ice cream is GF, but
I'm not sure about the sunday toppings (syrups/fusge/etc.). In the blizzrad
I order whatever candy is GF, such as snickers. Also I ask them to clean
the blender before putting my blizzard on it.

----------------------------------

According to several cd sites, DQ's soft serve vanilla and chocolate are
gf. Also, their M&M's, so you may be right about the cross-
contamination! I plan on contacting them, to see what items they have
that are gf, so I'll post my findings when I get them.

----------------------------------

Make your own, if you do this often enough you'll get lymphoma (no cure)

---------------------------------

I bet it's cross contamination.

Their ice cream is GF

Their vanilla soft serve ice cream is on Abigail's GF list. We have had
it many times with no problems. Sounds like you may have figured out
the problem with the crushed m&m's in a contaminated blender.
