Exactly the situation in our family. My son did not need another biopsy
since he was a "classic" celiac and showed improvement within weeks of going
on the diet. Myself, a non-classic celiac, was biopsied after 7 mths to see
if the diet was actually working. The doctor said I had a little ways to go
before everything was back to normal, just persevere on the diet and only
come back if I had any problems. Now I just see my GP. My son goes
annually to his GI for a checkup.
