I think that I'm lactose intolerant. My mother tells me that she is and we
share many of the same symptoms. Is there a genetic basis for passing this
on?

Often I'll take Lactaid before I ingest milk or a product that I know
contains milk. Sometimes it works, other times, not.

I spoke to a co-worker who told me that there is a prescription drug
available, that is more effective than Lactaid, but she didn't remember its
name.

Any ideas, folks? I assume that I will have to pursue this with a doctor,
but I'm hoping to be armed with some information before I go.

Awaiting the Thunder, which could only be gas......
