Sorry, but I'm not buying, that there are glitches, they are trying etc.  Wheat, for one, is one of the top 7 allergen listed by the US governement.  I would not expect a person with severe reactions to peanuts and possible death, to be given something to eat with peanut butter in it any more that I EXPECT a hospital to serve gluten to a person with Celiac.  

That is nothing but negligence and incompetance of the highest order and there is no excusing it for any reason.  Having people bring a GF food source to someone in the hospital is simply enabling the hospital to accept and build upon their incompetance and negligence.
