I was recently informed that both sea salt and iodized salt can inflame
dermatitis herpetiformis. This revelation solves the mystery, at least for
us, about why SOME GF potato chips, GF soy milk and GF crackers cause skin
itching and blistering. Hope this knowledge is of use to you, too.

But here are my unanswered questions on the subject of DH and salt:

Are manufacturers required to distinguish use of iodized salt as opposed to
plain old table salt?

What about Epsom salt? That's used to make tofu, to ease stomach upset and
to relax and soften skin while bathing.

Should DH suffers avoid:
1. Iodine injections in medical testing?
2. All sulfa drugs?
3. OTC remedies such as Neo/Polysporins with sulfate?
4. Swimming in the ocean?

Never thought salt could be such a complicated subject!

Will summarize replies.
