Has any one had a gluten reaction from having a small bowels series?

I was confirmed Celiac in 2004. Shortly after that I had the small bowels series, this is where they have you drink barium and then they take ax-rays every 15 to 20 minutes until the barium gets to the small bowel. All the time this was going on, I was fine, but as soon as it got to where they wanted it, they said I could get dressed. As I was getting dressed I became very ill. I went to the waiting room to have my husband get me home. Once I got home I had to dash to the bathroom. I also had much pain and bloating.

The reason I am bringing this up now, is a Dr. I saw last week wanted to know what kind of reaction I had. I was seeing him and would be getting barium for something unrelated to celiac. When I told him he said he did not think it was the barium that caused it, because he has never heard of anyone getting a reaction from barium.
Back in 2004 when I asked the person who had me drink two large glasses of it, I asked her if it has gluten in it, she said"what's gluten." I was to new to know enough to tell her I would like to talk with the Dr.
Sorry this is so long.
