Has anyone ever spoken with a representative of Deland Bakery products to ascertain whether their millet breads, rolls, etc., are actually GF? I have no problem eating whole millet, but every time I've tried a Deland product (just finished some of the raisin-cinnamon buns), I don't feel well. Their website has a big "Gluten Free" banner on it, yet I see they produce at least one item that contains wheat and numerous items containing oats. I wonder if they take measures to prevent cross-contamination. Product labels for the millet breads do NOT state that they are GF.

I emailed the company over a week ago and never heard back, and now I'm getting the run-around on the phone. I've left messages for the owner of the company (who apparently is the only one who can say whether their products are GF), and am waiting for him to call me back. It seems a little peculiar to me that the website features the GF banner, yet no one at the company will back up or even comment on that claim ... and they really didn't even seem to be aware of it!

Thanks,
Barrie in GA
