The EPA has apparently approved application of "growth enhancing" MSG
products onto fruits and vegetables, with no limits on the concentration
allowed in the produce as distributed.  This info comes from a post on
the sci.med.nutrition newsgroup and may explain odd reactions to produce
that some of us experience. I will be happy forward a copy to anyone
interested.
