I am wondering about the chlorine that is in swimming pools and the
possibility that it has gluten in it. While I know that swallowing
chlorine-treated water is generally a bad idea, I think that it is
an important thing to consider. First, for those of us with DH, it could
certainly create problems. Also, children may be more likely to swallow the
swimming pool water - as we all know they have a tendency to do, even when
they are told not to! Finally, even adults sometimes accidentally swallow a
little bit of swimming pool water.
Therefore, I am wondering about the possibility of gluten in that treated
water. I did a "Google" search, but that did not turn up any results.
I know that it sounds like a far-off possibility, but I am just wondering if
anyone knows the answer to this question. I guess the recent discussions
regarding the gluten content of packing "peanuts" and paper products have
made me think about the potential for gluten in many products.

Thank you in advance for any help the list can provide.

Wheatly
