Summary of recommendations received for St. Louis GF spots. We haven't taken our trip yet, so haven't tried any spots yet.

— First Watch Restaurant in Creve Coeur, and other locations. Go to firstwatch.com for complete list of their Gluten-Free selections.

—Chevy's — a Mexican restaurant. They have a gluten free menu and they're very helpful. I would DEFINITELY ask for the manager - that seemed to make a huge difference.

— Nacho mama's is a great little fun place to eat on Manchester Rd in Rock Hill. Tex- Mex.

— Pho Grand, a wonderful little Vietnamese place on Grand south of 44.

— PF Chang's

— Maggiano's Little Italy on Brentwood has a Gluten Free Menu. An allergen chef comes to the table to help you figure out what is safe. They have actually grated parmesan cheese for me because I didn't feel safe using the table cheese. They have really good corn pasta and will work with you on any of their dishes.

—Bandana BBQ restaurants: Their practices are pretty safe with a dedicated fryer.

— Outback Steakhouses,

— Fleming's Steakhouse,

— For grocery stores: Trader Joe’s, Dierbergs, Whole Foods, and Natural Way (health food store)

— Check out the Bi-State Celiac Support Group, www.bscsg.org. This is the St. Louis website for dining and shopping, with an active St. Louis GF yahoo group:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/stlouisalerts/ Also Marian sent me an extensive list of restaurants in the St Louis area where diners have had successful GF meals -- thanks!

— A recommendation from Kit Kellison for her bar, Off Broadway — a good venue for live indie music, and GF beer and liquor.

Thanks, everyone.
