I wasn't sure exactly how often to take Lactaid pills, so I emailed them
and asked.  Here's their reply.  It's pretty helpful, more so than their
box!!

PS Lactaid Ultra Caplets are gluten free.  The chewables are NOT.

(TM) Ultra Caplets and Chewables are ingested with the first bite of
food, the lactase enzyme will be active for approximately 30-45 minutes.
 You should use Lactaid (TM) every time you eat diary foods.  You can
use it every day with every meal, if you'd like.
