FW: BeerThought this message I had received from the Swedish Celiac
Association would be of interest. My question was:

I hope you speak English or can refer this question to someone who does. I
have heard that the Swedish Celiac Society recommends certain beers as being
gluten-free or acceptable to those with Celiac disease.

Is there such a list and could you send it to me if it is available.

Dear Don,

The National food Administration concluded about 10 years ago that some
beers were Ok to drink
The darker the colour of beer the more probable that it contains gluten.
Guiness for example.

The beers that were analysed were Krombacher Pils, Pilsner Urquell,
Kaltenberg, Crocodile. They did contain traces of gluten and far below the
permitted limit. The level of gluten varies depending on what manufaturing
process has been used.I do not know if the Swedish differ from others.
