I have a list of ingredients from Merken Confectionery Coating that reads: sugar, partially hydrogenated palm kernel and cottonseed oils, nonfat dry milk, cocoa, milk, glyceryl lacto esters of fatty acids, soy lecithin added as an emulsifier, and salt. My daughter called the company and they assured her that if an ingredient was not obvious on the label, then it would be safe. Does this look safe to you more experienced folks?

For those who don't know the product, it is a chocolate of sorts. They are little wafers that you melt and pour or spoon into candy molds. They have several colors. It comes out tasting like chocolate, but is much easier to work with. You can actually dip all sorts of things to make your own "chocolates" (like Russell Stover). I used to bring them to school for special class projects. It was a favorite even in my house full of kids. We have molds for all the holidays and many non-holidays. We have dipped nuts and marshmallows and caramels. Great stuff fo the sweet toothes! If these are indeed safe, then I will have a nice Christmas gift for my recently diagnosed grandchildren, who are feeling a bit deprived these days. I will also find a way to make some cashew turtles for myself by Valentine's Day, cause I love me.

Any assurances would be welcome. Warning would be, too. Thanks.

Barbara
