Lynda,
I didn't mean that we should individually demand that our healthcare be
covered each time we need a test or procedure. That would be like
asking the robots at Mcdonalds to "hold the pickle". First, there is
that glazed look of confusion, then the standard "that is against our
policy", there would then be forms to process and submitted up the
hierachical chain of command. The "computer" would eventually get the
request and issue a "request denied" statement, which would trickle down
the chain again until it got to you.
My suggestion was more akin to reprogramming the computer - entering
another variable. I was not suggesting that they would ever care about
our health -hahahahahaha! (let's all share a hearty laugh). Insurance
is a business that cares about the BOTTOM LINE. When you attack that,
red flags go up and their attention is grabbed. This would have to be
approached at the department that analyzes statistics or with the people
who coordinate with hospital personnel - somewhere other than FORMS
PROCESSING. Doctors need to be more aware too.
