  I sent an e-mail to Walmart, thanking them for their labeling practices.  This was their response:
   
  Thank you for your message.

Dear Ms. Roberts

We are receiving many positive emails regarding this.  Beginning in 
August of 2005, over 900 of the private label "Great Value" brand products 
will be identified as gluten free.  Look for the indication below the 
nutritional label.
