Hi Charlie,
Egg Nog calls for bourbon (a grain alcohol which is not gluten-free)Rum which
can be gluten free and cognacs which is usually gluten free. If you can find
a substitute for the bourbon here is a Martha Stewart recipe for egg nog:
12 eggs separated l and1/2 cups superfine sugar
l quart of whole milk l and l/2 quarts of heavy cream
l quart of bourbon(You would need to substitue that)
l/2 cup dark rum 2 cups of cognac
freshly grated nutmeg

Beat egg yolks until thick. Gradually add sugar to yolks. With a wire
whisk, beat in milk and l quart of cream. Add liquors stirring constantly.
Before serving, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into mixture. Whip
remaining cream until stiff and fold in. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
We make the nog with just rum. It is pretty good.
