Betsey,
First, I'd like to say thank you so much for all of your efforts!!!
It certainly makes it easier for the rest of us.
Also, may I suggest that Betsey and anyone else who has a contact
name and phone number of the dining services for any of the airlines please
share this info with the list. It seems to me that if these dining service
companies continue to receive courteous requests for accurate GF meals from
us, they will begin to realize that they must become more educated in
special dietary needs. The key word here is "courteous" so as to not undo
all the work people like Betsey have already done.
I, for one, would be more than happy to make this type of call
before each of my travel experiences. (But STILL pack along a GF
emergency meal, just in case!)
        Thanks one and all!
N :)

>2. As of today, I spoke with the Dining Services of Continental
>Airlines. The Chef apologized for my not having GF meals and said that
>it should never have happened. He said they have a manual with
>specifications for GF food. He said that he would try to track down
>where the weak link was. He even faxed me a copy of a guide for GF menus
>for my input. All the foods listed were certainly GF, however, I told
>him in a return fax, that I had never been served any of those foods. (
>Maybe they only go to First Class passengers.) He promised to pursue the
>problem and find where it breaks down. He said somewhere, someone is not
>following the Dining Service Specs.
