DO YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS? No Wheat All Your Life?

Bette Hagman, author of The Gluten-Free Gourmet cookbook series,
wants to know what it's like to have lived on the gluten-free diet all
your life. How does someone who's never tasted wheat bread feel about
missing this standby when others all around are eating it? Does anyone
to whom rice has been 'the staff of life' have a feeling of being
different? How has it affected his/her life so far? To find the
answers she's appealing to anyone over 21 who has been on the diet all
his/her life (or as long as can remember) to answer a very short
questionnaire she'll send.

She's met many celiacs who were diagnosed as children or infants
and were later told they'd been cured and again rediagnosed as adults,
but a true ever-eaten-wheat celiac must be rare and she'd love to hear
from some. It's your chance to speak up. No names will be published,
but the information will be tabulated and will appear in her next book.

If you are one of the "rare ones," just send a postcard or letter
with your name and address to Bette Hagman, c/o Gluten Intolerance
Group, 15110 10th Ave., SW, Suite A, Seattle, WA 98166, and she will
mail you a questionnaire.

Thanks. Let's help Bette learn more; she has helped so many celiacs
over the years with her great cookbook recipes!
