  SUGGESTIONS:
1. What I have found that knocks bronchitis and sinusitis to the
moon while my body recovers is Colloidal Silver.
Natural Source is a good brand and a GREAT brand is Silver Biotech.
All I do is pour some into a small glass spray bottle and spray up my
nose and a spray into my mouth (inhale into lungs) and viola! within
a few days I
have arrested it in its tracks and then I take all necessary precautions
(fluids, rest, etc.) and I have a superior healing process (as vs.
all other remedies). Everyone I have turned
on to this has had success. I hope there are more others that do too.
2. I was very concerned to see the post about this product. It can
have very serious side effects.
For accurate information you can read about it at Web MD at
http://www.webmd.com/news/20080905/colloidal-silver-faq
It is an eye opening article.

4. For me, at least, if I have any problem that produces mucus, I
can end up with bronchitis, if I do not work quickly to reduce the
mucus. I can get this from someone smoking in my presence or even
smelling people's perfumes. So, for me, a healthy amount of
avoidance is necessary. But if I cannot avoid and end up with
problems, I have a rescue inhaler (ventolin) and at the first sign of
mucus, I run to use my inhaler. Four to six hours later, if I am
still congested, I use it again. I stay on this schedule till the
mucus clears up. Meanwhile, I also take cod liver oil (high in vits
A and D) and a vit C supplement for the recommended (upper) doses and
length of time I am ill.
Often, hours before I feel the mucus congestion, however, I suck on
zinc lozenges (5 to 15 mg ones) because I can feel that scratchy
throat, raveled, worn-out feeling of illness coming on. I also take
these when I am out in crowds during cold and flu season or when I
have come in contact with someone I know is already ill. (And be
sure not to skip washing your hands often; but don't use the anti-
bacterial soaps, those just cause resistant strains of germs to
develop.) You want the zinc lozenges that you can suck on a long
time, and the lower the amount of zinc, actually the better, because
what you want is to coat the lining of your mouth and throat with
it. Zinc will not work to take it as a pill for this, it is this
coating which kills off the bacteria/etc in your mouth. You want to
take the zinc also every 2 to 4 hours or so (which is why you do not
want to take a lozenge that has 50 mg in it--you are only supposed to
take 50mg of zinc/day, so if you took one of those, that would be it
and you could not take anymore.) Be sure not to drink any liquids or
eat after taking these. The idea is to leave the coating on as long
as possible to kill whatever is there.
If I am having problems with my sinuses, I use SSKI potassium iodide
drops in water, which you now have to get by prescription from your
doctor. (I have a preventative care doctor who prescribes this). I
use 8 or 10 drops in a 16 oz glass of water. I usually only have to
take this twice for the problem to clear up for me, but my doctor
said it could be used for 4 or 5 days for this. Since going over to
prescription, I now sometimes try to get by using colloidal silver
instead. Sometimes this works, sometimes not. I use 2 or 3 drops/
nostril, lying down, one nostril at a time. Let it run in and then
sniff.
Occasionally, I still will get bronchitis or the flu and when this
happens, I take a thymus glandular (make sure it is grass fed and not
grain fed animal's thymus, if you take this, as the glands can
sometimes be contaminated during slaughter of the animals). The
brand I take is NutriCology. I take this only as a last resort,
usually. The reason is, there are risks with taking glandulars
(cross-over strains of bacteria, viruses, etc. from the animals) Use
only glandulars from reliable sources and take only as long as you
have to. I do this when my illness drags on longer than 12 days (but
have taken sooner when I had a big event I needed to attend, but was
ill--usually at the holidays).

With these measures, I have sometimes only been ill 3 days with the
flu or a cold. (Often, I also do not get ill at all, after I take my
zinc a few times or the inhaler a time or 2.) This is in contrast to
formerly getting ill at Thanksgiving or Christmas and it lasting till
Easter! (Or sometimes succumbing to using an antibiotic to recover.)
5. I learned a trick for traveling and we haven't caught anything
during a flight for 10 years since using it. We coat our nostrils
with vaseline just prior to flying. Apparently, the dry and recycled
air dries out and cracks the nostril lining and then one catches the
germs from the recycled air.
6. For sure we know that building a strong body with plenty of
appropriate nutrition and good health practices like sunshine,
exercise, sleep, is beneficial, and likely important for calming down
an overactive immune system.

Thanks again to everyone!
Mary in NH
